Overview
Qwuik lets store staff sell anywhere on the floor instead of behind a counter. The cashier scans products with the phone's camera, the basket builds as they go, and the customer pays by tapping their card on the same phone and gets a digital receipt.
I built the Android and iOS app in Expo with a fast barcode scanner, biometric sign-in and an offline-friendly checkout flow, on top of an Express and Redis API that answers a barcode scan in well under 200 ms.
I also rebuilt the admin portal from an old Angular and Firebase app into Next.js and Appwrite. Retailers run companies, brands and stores, the product catalogue and barcode profiles, F&B menus with table QR ordering, promotions and loyalty, payment gateways, e-invoicing, staff roles and sales reports from one place.
